It's been a long while since the last Overleaf guest blog post about CiteDrive, and based on your comments, we've been busy upgrading the platform and rewriting the whole application. Now we’re pleased to announce the release of CiteDrive 3.0!

Hey everybody! Overleaf now uses CodeMirror 6, a different underlying technology, to power its source editor. This modernises the editor, supporting our commitment to improve Overleaf and enhance our processes to bring you highly requested improvements and valuable new features even faster. Adopting a new source editor is a crucial step in unifying with our Rich Text editor, allowing us to improve both in parallel.

Overleaf starts off its new era of leadership with a celebration of 11 million users and 100 million projects.

Introducing Overleaf Labs, a framework for experimentation and innovation in the space of collaborative writing and publishing. Overleaf Labs will allow innovative internal ideas to flourish and be explored, and also a way to work in collaboration with partners to conduct research on new ways of making the process of writing research papers and technical documents quicker and easier.
